    The People's Theatre, established in 1911, is a leading non-professional theatre company in the North of England. With up to fourteen productions staged annually in their 500-seat main auditorium and studio theatre, they provide a genuine community theatre experience for people from all walks of life. All shows are produced entirely by their members, who work to professional standards, and many have gone on to work in the professional theatre. The theatre also serves as a 500-seater arts venue with a studio and cafe, as well as a commercial art gallery.
