YORK Disabled Workers Co-operative is a non-profit organization supported by the trade union movement, trade union branches, trades councils, and friendly firms who donate surplus raw materials. With the tremendous support of trade unions, financial and material help from various institutions, private companies, and individuals, the cooperative's dream of providing employment opportunities for disabled people has become a reality. They design and manufacture ethical products for the Home and Garden, as well as for the trade union and labour movements. Surpluses are used to employ disabled people, and their product range includes pet and wildlife accommodation made from recycled and FSC certified timber.
