Workaid

Workaid is a charity based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire with a dedicated team of over 200 volunteers who collect unwanted tools and equipment from all over the UK. These items are then refurbished at their workshop and sent to vocational training projects and self-help groups, mostly in East Africa and the UK. The organization empowers young people to help themselves by developing the skills and knowledge needed to find gainful employment or start their own business. In 2015, Workaid received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. They rely on donations and volunteers to meet the running costs of their workshop and to ship the donated tools overseas.
