Weston Hospicecare, founded by the community in 1989, offers physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses. The Hospice provides a day hospice, a ten bed In-patient Unit, a team of Hospice Community Nurse Specialists, Hospice at home, chaplaincy and bereavement services. These services work together to ensure patients receive specialist care and support, free of charge. With only 19% of funding coming from the NHS, the Hospice relies on the generosity of the local community, fundraising events, partnerships with local companies, the hospice lottery, and Hospice shops to raise the nearly £3 million needed annually to keep its doors open. The mission of Weston Hospicecare is to provide high quality palliative care to enhance the quality of life for patients and support their families.
