    West Lakes Academy in Egremont, Cumbria, provides education to students from 11 to 18 years old. Their vision is to succeed in ‘Changing Lives through Learning’ by offering the best possible educational opportunities for young people in West Cumbria. The academy achieved its best ever GCSE results in 2017, with 64% of students achieving five GCSEs or more at A* to C grade, including English and maths. Key Stage 5 results were also outstanding, with a 100% pass rate and many students going on to university or their chosen careers. In March 2017, the academy was rated 'Grade 1 -Outstanding' by Ofsted in all five areas of assessment. West Lakes Academy is a proud member of the West Lakes Multi-Academy Trust (WLMAT) and was set up in 2008 with sponsorship from Sellafield Ltd, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
