Tolson Memorial Museum is a living history book of Huddersfield, gifted to the Huddersfield Corporation in 1922 as a War Memorial in memory of Legh Tolson's nephews, Robert and James, who died in the First World War. The museum holds collections on the history of Huddersfield and its Roman connections. Admission is free, and the museum has a small gift shop and serves light refreshments. The museum offers a vivid and intriguing picture of the area and its people, from pre-history to present day, revealed through world-class collections, including historical and natural history exhibits, and taxidermied birds.
