The Playground Theatre, formerly a bus depot, is a registered charity and creative space for innovative theatre artists. Supported by the Arts Council, The Welcome Trust, and others, the theatre has launched numerous successful projects that have gone on to venues such as The Young Vic and The Barbican Theatre. In 2017, the theatre opened its doors to audiences, showcasing international artists and a diverse range of productions, including drama, musical theatre, standup comedians, festivals, and performing arts. The theatre is committed to outreach projects and relies on donations and funding to remain open. With a focus on fostering bold and imaginative new works, The Playground Theatre is fully engaged with its local community in Kensington and Chelsea and beyond.
