Business Description

The Old Hall, built in 1472 as a timber structure, is a grade 1 listed building and one of only four remaining aisled manor houses in the county. The main hall features a plastered ceiling dating back to 1640, and between 1742-1752, it was the childhood home of Joseph Priestly, the discoverer of oxygen. The Old Hall is now part of the Samuel Smiths Brewery, known for brewing beers solely from authentic natural ingredients without any chemical additives, raw material adjuncts, artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings, or preservatives.
