    The Merrion Centre, originally constructed in 1962, was the vision of Arnold Ziff OBE, JP. It was initially opened in May 1964 and comprised 97 shops, a multi-storey car park, a hotel, offices, and entertainment venues. The final phase was completed in 1971, making it the largest shopping centre of its kind in Europe at the time. The centre has since been covered over and updated with new entrances and a glazed roof. Today, it offers a wide range of retail, dining, and entertainment options, making it a vibrant hub in the heart of Leeds' Arena Quarter.
