Business Description

The Cartoon Museum is the only museum in Britain dedicated to collecting and displaying original British cartoons and comics. Thanks to the generosity of artists and their families, the museum's collection of original comic artwork has grown over the last ten years. The Comic Creators project aims to bridge significant gaps in the collection by purchasing original pieces of comic artwork and developing exhibitions, activities, and events to share Britain's comic heritage with the public. The museum has been awarded £164,300 for the project by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of its Collecting Cultures programme. The Cartoon Museum champions editorial cartoon and comic art, tracing the development of British cartooning from the early 18th century to the present day.
