Business Description
The Cake Shop is a family-run business that was established in 1983 by two Whitehead brothers, who are fifth generation bakers. The shop initially specialized in celebration cakes but expanded to include other confectionary as customer demand grew. The business purchased a bakery in 1985 and opened four more shops to supply the local area with bread, confectionary, and celebration cakes. In 1999, the decision was made to sell off the bakery and shops to focus on the original celebration cake side of the business. The Cake Shop has since become one of the largest celebration cake bakeries in the Midlands, doubling in size in 2003. Today, it remains a leading specialist in celebration cakes and sugarcraft.
