The Albany Theatre is an elegant Art-Deco style venue located in the old Coventry Technical College building. Originally designed in 1919, the theatre opened in 1935 and closed in 2009 following the acquisition of the City College site by developers. After extensive revamping and renovation, the theatre re-opened in 2013 with support from Coventry City Council and a team of volunteers. The Picture House, as it is also known, aims to provide a diverse range of cinematic events and screenings for the local community. The theatre hosts a variety of performances, including plays, ballets, comedy, and musical acts.
