Stocker's Lake Nature Reserve, formerly known as Thorley Wash, was decommissioned in 2004 and restored to a more natural state. Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1986, the reserve is home to a variety of wildflowers, including rare species such as Desmoulin’s whorl snail. The wet habitats support diverse wildlife, from dragonflies and birds to small mammals and reptiles. The reserve's varied habitats, including reed beds and mature woodland, attract a wide range of wildlife, making it an enjoyable destination for visitors. Accessible from Purwell Lane or Wymondly Road, the reserve offers a circular walk and is known for attracting a variety of waterbirds.
