Business Description

The St Ives School of Painting underwent renovations in 2010, led by The Borlase Smart John Wells Trust and supported by public funding from Arts Council England. The historic Porthmeor Studios, in need of attention due to its marine environment, were repaired and refurbished while maintaining their character. The School now offers a varied course programme, attracting students from around the world to learn from practicing artists in a thriving arts community. In addition to art courses, the School hosts events and aims to provide a dynamic space for creative exchange and deep learning. The goal is to establish the School as a welcoming, enriching place for all and equip students with the tools they need for creative exploration. The School also aims to be responsive to students' needs, build confidence as an organization, and work with partners to ensure the Porthmeor Studios remain a vibrant cultural hub.
