    The 1st Battalion The Highlanders ACF is a cadet force with approximately 600 cadets, 30 Officers, and 90 adult volunteers in 29 detachments across the Highlands and Islands. The detachments are organized into five companies, each with its own headquarters and multiple detachments. All detachments parade between 1900 and 2130 hours on one evening a week. The battalion also has a Pipes & Drums detachment, welcoming cadets to learn bagpipes or highland drumming.
