The South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 337 square kilometres of coastline, estuaries, and countryside, stretching from Berry Head in Brixham to Jennycliff in Plymouth. It is home to 34,000 people and is officially recognized as one of the best bits of countryside in England and Wales. The AONB is part of a family of protected landscapes and is coordinated by a Partnership Committee made up of local and national organizations. It is a living landscape encompassing rugged cliffs, sandy coves, peaceful countryside, picturesque villages, rolling hills, wooded valleys, colourful hedge banks, and secretive estuaries.
