The Somerset Rural Life Museum is reopening in June after a £2.4 million redevelopment. The museum showcases Somerset's rural and social history through its Farmhouse Galleries and Farmyard Gallery. The 14th-century Abbey Barn is a highlight of the site, and outdoor spaces feature sculptures and family trails. The museum is part of the South West Heritage Trust, which also manages the Museum of Somerset and other facilities in Taunton and Exeter. The Farmyard Café will offer locally-sourced food and drink, and the museum will be open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday until the end of October.
