The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) is an independent charity that works with adults, families, and children's social care and social work services across the UK. They gather and analyze knowledge about what works in care services and translate that knowledge into practical resources, learning materials, and services to improve the knowledge and skills of those working in care services. SCIE collaborates with experts, including people who use care services and their carers, to support the transformation of social care and become an influential voice in championing high-quality social care and service innovation. Their mission is to identify and spread knowledge about good practice to the social care workforce and support the delivery of transformed, personalized social care services. SCIE aims to reach and influence practitioners, managers, and sector leadership, as well as ensure the experience and expertise of people who use services is reflected in their work. They drive improvements in social care locally, influence better policy and practice nationally, and support better safeguarding everywhere.
