Business Description

The Slattery Story is a family-owned business that started in 1967 by Bernard and Margaret Slattery. The business began with a bakery in Crumpsall and a small shop in Higher Broughton. Over the years, the business expanded and won numerous accolades in national bakery competitions. The family business continued to grow, with the next generation joining and taking on key roles. In 2004, the business expanded to include a wedding cake showroom, dining room, and the 'Slattery School of Excellence'. The business underwent major building work in 2012 to unite the two sites and accommodate the growing needs of the bakery. With 8 immediate family members and 3 members of extended family working together on the same site, Slattery is now in its third generation. The business looks set to continue into a 4th generation in the future.
