In addition to its permanent galleries, the museum also features special exhibitions, such as the Vikings exhibition 'Valhalla-Life and Death in Viking Britain'. Visitors can also enjoy the on-site cafe, shop, and Visitor Information Centre, as well as purchase tickets for events and guided walks. The museum is accessible throughout and offers a wide range of souvenirs, local crafts, jewellery, and books. Owned and operated by Shropshire Council, the museum allows visitors to experience over 650 million years of Shropshire's rich history.
