The Screech Owl Sanctuary, founded in 1990 and located in mid Cornwall near Indian Queens, is home to over 40 different owl species from around the world. The sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured owls, as well as providing education and close encounters with these majestic birds for both adults and children. In addition to owls, the sanctuary is home to a variety of other animals, including emus, meerkats, alpacas, and Shetland ponies. The sanctuary has been involved in conservation projects for endangered species and has received recognition, including winning the BBC UK Animal Awards in 2003. Visitors can also enjoy wildlife experiences such as owl handling and encounters with raccoons and meerkats.
