Business Description
The Royal Welsh Yacht Club, established in 1847, is the senior yacht club of Wales. Its patronage has been continued by members of the royal family, including King Edward VII and the present patron, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The Club's headquarters are located in the historic West Gate of Caernarfon, making it one of the most unique premises owned by any yacht club and the oldest in Wales. Its first Commodore was Henry Paget, the first Marquis of Anglesey, and the first Vice-Commodore was Robert Stephenson, the famous engineer. The Club was founded by Llewellyn Turner, a young Attorney of Caernarfon.
