Gravesend Lifeboat Station, established in January 2002, is one of four RNLI stations on the River Thames. It was created in response to the inquiry into the 1989 Marchioness pleasure cruiser disaster, which claimed 51 lives. The station welcomes visitors to see the lifeboat, learn about the crew, and purchase souvenirs from the gift shop. Tours can be booked in advance through their website.
