The Phoenix Theatre, designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and Bertie Crewe, opened in 1930 with the premiere of Noël Coward’s Private Lives. Over the years, the theatre has hosted many star actors and successful musicals, including the long-running Blood Brothers. Currently, the theatre is showing Once, a Tony and Grammy award-winning musical that celebrates the power of music. As part of the Ambassador Theatre Group, the Phoenix Theatre is one of London's leading theatres, offering a range of productions in its Italian-styled red-and-gold theatre with frescoed panels and painted curtains.
