Panjabi Centre

The Panjabi Centre, located in Southall, West London, is dedicated to promoting Panjabi culture, language, and history. Its primary project, Desi Radio, is a Panjabi radio station led by volunteers. The Centre's vision is to raise awareness of Panjabi culture, build a cohesive identity for the Panjabi community, promote diversity and multiculturalism, and encourage integration into British cultures. Its mission is to provide opportunities for the Panjabi community to gain skills and qualifications through media training, cultural activities, and events. Desi Radio, staffed by volunteers who have received training from The Panjabi Centre, began as Punjab FM and was granted its licence in May 2002 as part of the British Government's scheme.
