Business Description
Newton Beach is a stunning beach in the popular coastal town of Porthcawl. It's a long, three mile stretch of sand that stretches from Newton Point in the east to the mouth of the River Ogmore in the west. By its eastern end are the Newton Burrows and Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the source of the 'big dipper' - Europe's second highest sand dune. The beach is a popular spot for windsurfers, jet skiers, power boat users and dog walkers, but is also quieter than other Porthcawl beaches for those who like to relax and take in the scenery. It's also a great spot for rockpooling and playing in the sand - although expect to find some tubeworms! Newton Beach is dog friendly and open all year, but there are no toilets, refreshments or lifeguards, so be sure to come prepared. There is a small parking fee, and the gravel road leading to it can be a bit bumpy.
