As one of five National Mountain Training Boards, it works closely with Mountain Training United Kingdom to develop and manage qualification schemes, ensuring consistency across the UK and Ireland. Managed by an Executive Board and full-time Executive Officer, Mountain Training Scotland's purpose is to advance education and training in mountain-related activities for public benefit. It also has a specific responsibility for the Winter Mountain Leader Award.
