The Moffat Mountain Rescue Team, originally founded in 1969 as the Moffat Hill Rescue Service, is a dedicated group of 25 to 30 unpaid volunteers providing a 24-hour rescue service every day of the year. Affiliated with the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland, the team also offers assistance to outdoor and community events, races, and fundraising efforts to ensure continued operation. As a Scottish Charity, the team provides vital support to walkers, climbers, and others in need of rescue in the Moffat area.
