Mile End Park is a 32-hectare linear park created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. It follows Regent's Canal from Victoria Park to Limehouse Basin and is separated from Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal. The park was part of a plan to create green routes connecting London to the Thames, with development beginning in the late 20th century. The Green Bridge, a pedestrian bridge over Mile End Road, opened in 1999. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including birds, butterflies, and bees, and is managed by Tower Hamlets council on behalf of the King George’s Field, Mile End Charity.
