Founded in 1985 by Artistic Director Avril Hitman, Magpie Dance has grown over 30 years to become a leading inclusive contemporary dance company for people with learning disabilities. The organization offers a weekly program of adult, youth, and community classes, as well as holiday sessions, mentoring, workshops, and a professional training and performance company called Highfliers. Magpie Dance is committed to unlocking individual potential and ability, focusing on ability rather than disability, and empowering participants for life.
