The Leatherhead Museum of Local History, located in Hampton Cottage, a 17th Century timbered house, was acquired by the Leatherhead Museum and Local Heritage Trust in 1976. The society, formed in 1946, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Leatherhead, Ashtead, Bookham, and Fetcham for all interested individuals.
