International Art & Antique Loss Register

The International Art & Antique Loss Register, also known as the Art Loss Register (ALR), is a London-based organization established in 1990. With over 700,000 items listed on its database, the ALR covers a wide range of items including paintings, sculptures, antiquities, watches, clocks, jewellery, musical instruments, furniture, books, and coins. The ALR also holds records of fakes and forgeries, items subject to dispute, and items against which a loan has been secured. Additionally, the ALR provides due diligence services widely used across the art market, with over 360,000 items searched against the database each year. The organization's services are employed by 14 major international art fairs and over 80 auction houses worldwide. In the event of a stolen item being located, the ALR offers a recovery service, working closely with law enforcement agencies and insurance companies.
