Business Description
The Harwich Redoubt Fort is an impressive circular fort built in 1808 to defend the port of Harwich against a Napoleonic invasion. It is open to the public on Sundays throughout the year and Thursday to Sunday during the summer season. The fort features a museum displaying original cannons and offers battle re-enactments and other events during the summer months. The restoration of the fort began in 1969 and is the largest ancient monument in the UK being restored by a voluntary group.
