Ethiopian Women's Empowerment Group

The Ethiopian Women's Empowerment Group (EWEG) is a user-led organization established in 2003 and registered as a company in 2005. Their primary goal is to support Ethiopian and other refugee and migrant women in accessing health, social services, housing, education, advice, and advocacy services in order to fully benefit from the system and integrate into the UK society. Specifically, EWEG aims to address the social, educational, emotional, and physical needs of refugee, migrant, and asylum seeker women in London, with a focus on Kensington and Chelsea boroughs. Their objectives include promoting learning opportunities, social cohesion, defending rights, advancing education and training, and preserving and protecting the physical and mental health of Ethiopian women in the UK, as well as providing relief for women and children in Ethiopia.
