Coventry Peace House was established in January 1999 by three individuals who set up a fully mutual housing co-op in order to create a permanent community based on non-violence. Over the years, the property has been renovated with help from volunteers and a project for young people. In 2003, Coventry Peace House Education Trust was set up as a registered charity to oversee peace and environmental projects. The house also serves as a peace and environmental center, offering free courses, hospitality to asylum seekers, and running campaigns. Additionally, Coventry Peace House serves as a hate crime reporting center and has recently set up a hate crime helpline. They are also a VEV center, trained to take photographs of injuries and damage for use in court.
