Centre For The Study Of Financial Innovation

Founded in 2013 by researchers at UEL and the Royal Docks Business School, the Centre for Theology & Community (CTC) focuses on researching globalisation, European integration, and the state from critical, historical, and contemporary perspectives. Their work includes scholarly research on the development of the monetary and financial system, with a special focus on Islamic banking and finance. Additionally, CTC is currently producing work on the transformations of the global and European economies and their crises, with a focus on financialisation, derivatives trading, housing market bubbles, and the financialization of firms. The centre also conducts research on both developed and developing countries, with a special focus on the EU crisis, Eastern Europe, and the greater Middle East. CTC is also home to the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies, a refereed publication by Routledge.
