The O2 Academy Glasgow is a 2,500-person music venue located in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. It is part of the O2 Academy network and was previously branded as Carling Academy. The venue, housed in the former New Bedford Cinema, opened in 2003 and underwent a £3 million refurbishment. In November 2008, it was rebranded as The O2 Academy following a sponsorship deal with Live Nation and Telefónica Europe.
