B arts started Baking Bread in 2011 to discover, make, and share bread recipes from diverse communities in Stoke-on-Trent. They found a demand for "real" bread and ran a subscription bread service for a year to develop the audience for real bread. Bread Clubs are about bringing people together in community centers and church halls to use a shared oven and bake together. They also have a mobile wood-fired bread/pizza oven available for booking. The bread is made using organic flours, water, salt, and sometimes olive oil, seeds, fruit, or malted grain flakes. There are no flour improvers, synthetic chemicals, or any other hidden extras. They encourage support for real bread and offer to help start bread clubs in other areas.
