Business Description
Black Cultural Archives, founded in 1981, is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and celebrating the contributions of Black people to the culture, society, and heritage of the UK. The organization's archive collection includes rare documents, photographs, oral history testimonies, and objects dating from the second century to the present day, offering insight into the history of people of African descent in Britain. Through public programs and partnerships with other organizations, Black Cultural Archives aims to enable various communities to learn and connect with this often hidden history. The organization is currently working on a major building project to open the UK's first Black heritage center at Windrush Square in Brixton, London.
