Business Description

Appleby Grammar School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form in Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria for students aged 11 to 18. Since August 2011, it has been an Academy. The school follows the standards set by Ofsted & Department for Education (England) and focuses heavily on Science and Computing themed subjects. It was granted Specialist Technology College Status in 2004. The school has Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) and Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11), during which pupils take their General Certificate of Secondary Education exams. It also has a 6th form college (Years 12 and 13) for those students wishing to further their educations with A level courses. The school promotes healthy competition between pupils through its house system, annual athletics day, and fund-raising events for charity.
