The Admiral Benbow is a unique pub and restaurant with a worldwide reputation and a famous history. Its interior houses a fascinating collection of maritime artifacts rescued from numerous shipwrecked vessels which foundered on the Cornish coast during the last 400 years. The pub has a rich history, having served as a former brothel, boardinghouse, smugglers storehouse, illegal drinking den, and tearoom. It is one of only a handful of pubs in Cornwall to have its own smugglers tunnels under the cellar leading to a quayside warehouse a hundred yards away. The pub serves a wide variety of beers, wines, and spirits, including an excellent selection of real ales and fine wines. The restaurant offers a full a la carte menu with a variety of dishes, including local seafood, and vegetarian options. Daily specials are also available. The Admiral Benbow is a quirky pub with excellent range of beers and spirits and good fresh food, serving pirates, smugglers, and tall tales since 1695.
